alpha

getting to know jesus

ALPHA is a new program that is spreading through our diocese as each parish has been asked by Bishop Ricken to make this an offering to all parishioners. Alpha is a tool to assist us in carrying out the tasks of the New Evangelization…to equip us as missionary disciples.

Alpha is designed first to remind us of the universal Catholic Christian doctrine – that Jesus suffered, died and rose again to save all people from sin and restore them for eternal life.

Second, Alpha is a program that we can share with those who are unchurched or are seeking information on Christianity and the Catholic Faith. An Alpha evening includes a simple meal, a video presentation, and conversation. The course runs for 11 weeks and includes a day of reflection.

Our fall offering begins Tuesday, September 25 / 6:00-7:30PM in the Parish Social Hall located on the ground level of the Holy Family School building. Dinner begins at 6:00. Video and conversation to follow. Evening concludes at 7:30.

Please join us – don’t worry about making all the sessions – just take it one week at a time.

Call the office, 494-2534, to register or email stagnesemc@netnet.net

alpha hospitality

A typical ALPHA night consists of a meal or snack, a video presentation and conversation. Our Alpha Team needs members for the ‘Hospitality’ component of an Alpha night. Simply stated we’re looking for people who will help with the set-up and clean-up of meals and environment. Our fall Alpha will run on Tuesday evenings for eleven weeks September through December.

If you feel called to help with Alpha or would like more information about the program call or email Gail at the Parish Office, 494-2534 or stagnesemc@netnet.net
